Within in the Criminal Justice System there are several components. Each component plays a very important role in how our system functions. It all begins with Law Enforcement, which responds when a crime is reported and takes necessary measures to investigate and make an arrest if the suspect is found. Once a suspect is booked, the courts will get involved, a prosecutor will review the facts of the case and charge the suspect, the defendant will then go in front of a judge, and will either settle for a plea bargain or take the chance with a trial. From there the defendant will then either enter into a jail or prison to serve their time and or be placed on probation or another alternative to incarceration.After being sentenced defendants can have their share of issues, some can be ethical concern regarding how our judicial system is functioning. Ethical concerns from within our judicial system can range from discretion, use of force, corruption and police misconduct. All of these concerns can definitely affect our judicial system and how it can impact the system as a whole from those convicted to the outsiders who can lose respect and faith on our government.An area that seems to be increasing is women and crime.
