Key modalities of sustainment and recycling in the textile industry
The key reason behind the recycling and reuse of materials like plastic, paper, domestic non-recyclable waste, fiber and glass etc. lies with the common target of a sustainable approach towards using these potentially dangerous elements (combustion and dispose of these elements cause pollution, degradation of land and several other issues). In spite of a number of government plans and social activists focus over recycling etc. we have hardly heard or learnt about the importance of recycling in textile industry. (MP, 2017)
Generally, the waste clothes (which can no longer be worn, torn off clothes, remains from manufacturing industries, tailor shops and even our own houses are generally thrown out as waste and are either burnt or sent to landfills. As stated in the EPA reports almost 5-8% of the landfills are covered in the waste generated from the textile industry.
