1. Which concepts of interpretation do you believe affected the way passersby perceived the people struggling with their bike locks?
Answer: I think that locus, stability, specificity and responsibility are the concepts of interpretation that I believe affected the way passersby perceived the people struggling with their bike locks. To back up my statement I can say that the breaking of chains and asking from help seemed a bit impatient and thus it somehow indicates the locus attribute. Moreover, there is a notion in people regarding colored people, that they are the one involved more in crimes as such. So, when they saw a colored person breaking down a chain, they assumed it to be a thief while it was not the same with the young, attractive woman. This suggests stability. We also have something that indicates responsibility, which is, the loosing of bike keys by those three people.
