Economic expansion as well as the period of recession both serves as the milestone of migration in human history. For example, the growth of industries, cotton farming as well as the development of the urban culture led to the massive migration of people all across African regions to United States. This also pertains to the changes in the social life of people; when they leave their homeland behind and collectively migrate to another place or region, they simply carry their culture and belief systems with them. In the context of relating social change with the economically driven areas in America, Dayton has seen a great deal of changes during the economic recession, as seen in the movie Left behind America by Frontline. 
A Brief Overview 
Left behind America projects the social changes happening in the Dayton and nearby cities. In fact, the documentary is developed in such a way that it precisely touches the aspects of employment, dependability of common population over industrial development as well as their migration due to the unexpected scales of recession hitting the local area. For example, during the 19th century, Dayton received some of the huge investment options, which were available at that time.
These investments made the region as socially as well as economically stable. However, due to the unrest at global level in the economic sustainability, the recession could hit America badly and it resulted in the so-called ‘forced social change’. The migration, which the population has gone through, is not only massive but also it has changed what people used to see as Dayton’s pride, the social structure of the region. Additionally, the second highlight of the documentary, which relates to the social change, is the migration of the population, which once used to be local.
