Reflections
I think the webinars and videos were very inspirational and moving enlightening me and fellow classmates about deeper aspects of the movement Diversity and Inclusion. Amid the surge in protests all around the nation, I found the videos extremely intriguing and insightful. There is no denying to the fact that majority of colleges have faced many challenges to make their academics atmosphere and campuses open to diversity especially the black students. In these videos we can witness personal testimony of various students in the campus expressing their journey, battles and challenges faced to reach to the position they are today. From their testimonial it is evident that a black person who is meritorious enough to prove his performance at the chosen field of work would make much less salary relative to a white person. There is a systematic type of racism which exists in the country which cripples the growth and prosperity of black people. Especially, for black students are surviving this discrimination and even thriving on this widespread disparity even though there are numerous checkpoints where they are stereotyped. Along with the concept of systematic racism there were few other eye-openers which was presented in the video. For instance,
