Use appropriate academic sources. This is a research paper, and not an opinion-based paper. Thus, you must use references to support your points, and the references must be properly incorporated into the body of your paper.

Instructions

The result of this assignment, which you will submit through www.turnitin.com, will be a short but formal research paper. It is expected that you will use the tools you have learned in class that are related to: outlining, referencing, writing style, organization, and academic writing expectations.

This paper is a research report, and not an essay. You are expected to demonstrate your ability to critically think when analyzing the technology as it relates to society. The body of the paper should be 6-8 pages in length, double-spaced. This length is for the content (from Introduction to Conclusion) and does not include the abstract or references. The font should be 12 point, Times New Roman. The margins should be one inch (or 2.54 cm) on the top, bottom and both sides.

In this paper, you MUST state your objective(s) AND scope. These items, however, do not need their own separate sections for this length of paper. They should be discussed/stated in the Introduction section. Following the Introduction, use relevant content sections as well as a Conclusion section and Reference section.

In this paper, you are NOT required to includea title page or table of contents (or list of tables, figures or appendices). You are, however, required to include an Abstract and Reference section. The Abstract and Reference section do not count towards your 6-8 pages.

Content of your paper

The following list of ideas and questions should be considered when researching for your report. Due to the limited number of pages allowed in this assignment, there may not be enough room to cover all the topics listed below. Thus, you might choose only to briefly mention some topics, while going into more detail in other areas. It is recommended that you support your analysis with examples, in order to justify your statements. The specific ideas you choose to expand on will depend on which ones you can get detailed information about and which you feel will make the strongest examples to support your points.

  • What is the technology? How does it work? (This should be only a brief description due to the limited number of pages allowed in this report)

  • How did society function prior to the wide-spread use of the technology or its first use or introduction of it?

oYou may consider how society functioned politically, socially, and economically
oYou may consider people’s health and welfare, as well as the state of theenvironment

Page2of4

•How did society function after the wide-spread implementation of the technology?
oAgain, you may consider what changed regarding how society functioned politically,

socially, and economically
•Consider the impacts on people’s health and welfare

oYou should try to provide a balanced discussion
â–ªinclude both positive and negative impacts

  • Following your analysis of the technology’s impact on people’s health andwelfare, you may wish to evaluate the balance of positive and negative impacts

oDo the positive impacts outweigh the negative ones (or vice versa)? How did you arrive at that conclusion?

oBe sure that you have carefully considered the impacts on society if the technology were no longer available

    oBriefly discuss alternatives
oBe sure to explain your reasons for your opinion–they should be based on the facts

    that you have already presented

  • Consider the impacts on the environment

oYou should try to provide a balanced discussion
â–ªinclude both positive and negative impacts

•Following your analysis of the technology’s impact on the environment, you maywish to evaluate the balance of positive and negative impacts

oDo the positive impacts outweigh the negative ones (or vice versa)? How did you arrive at that conclusion?

oBe sure that you have carefully considered the impacts on society if the technology were no longer available

oBriefly discuss alternatives
oBe sure to explain your reasons for your opinion–they should be based on the facts

that you have already presented

  • What does this example of the impact of technology on society suggest about how

    engineering should be practiced?

  • Demonstrate your critical thinking skills in assessing and evaluating thetechnology’s impact.

You will often find evidence in the literature to support both the negative and positive impacts, so it is likely that through your analysis, you will choose to support and emphasize one side. Be sure that you include evidence to support your claims.

Abstract
Telephone concerts sound with the most efficient format into electronic signals. Those electronic signals are transmitted through cables and other communication channels to the other telephone. The paper shows that the health and welfare of society were not performed witty the developed format before the widespread popularity of the telephone. Discussion part shows that telephones serve a negative impact on society and also on the environment. It will help people to make the safe distance from the impact of radiation of mobiles in their health.
Introduction
The telephone is one kind of telecommunication device. This technology allows two or more users to conduct their conversation when they are too far from each other. In the other telephone, the transmitted signals reproduce sounds to the other receiving user (Akhtar, 2017). Within this context, it can be mentioned that the essential elements of a telephone are the microphone to speak into and it reproduces the voice in a distant location.
Therefore, most telephones contain ringer for the announcement of incoming telephone calls. In the telephone, there is the presence of a dial or keypad for entering the telephone number in case of initiating a call to the other telephone. The dial-in the telephone may be located in the handset or on a base unit, in which the handset is connected.
Functioning of the Society Prior to the Wide-Spread Use of Technology
According to the reports, it is noticed that before the widespread use or even the first introduction of the telephone, people could not communicate with others with the easy ways who reach far from them. In the case of communicating with their close ones, society people are using letters, telegraphs and other messaging systems (Mak, Chio, Chan, Lui & Wu, 2017). The delivery of letters or telegraph takes a long time to reach its destined place. On this note, the delivery of information became a time-consuming matter.
It offers hindrance in the easy communication of the community to their closed ones. Not only that, but the official activities are also faced with delayed schedules due to the lack of introduction of this technology of telecommunication devices. In the old ages before the invention as well as the widespread popularity of telephone society, people were performing their political activities by using posters and banners. Those mediums were used for performing election campaigns in society (Perillo, Bernal, Pocas, Duarte & Malta, 2020).
Therefore, to make their contact with the political leaders, they used letters and took appointments for meeting them. Furthermore, the cadets of political parties are taking signatures from everyone in the community. It was performed for making their protest against different political operations or the decision of the government. Social activities were performed by organizing programs and community people came to know about those programs with the delivery of leaflets by the organizers.
Furthermore, letters were used to offer detailed view rating the social functions (Lecube et al., 2020). In the previous ages, people were not using telephonic conversation to show their gesture towards others. In that case, they are applying face-to-face conversation to make their effective connection with their closed and nearest ones. Economic activities were performed through cash as before the widespread introduction of telephone in the society. In the previous days, there was no presence of online facilities to perform economic operations or cash transactions (Horn & Nkala, 2017). On this note, people relied on the cash transaction or checks for performing their economic operations.
In that case, it can be indeed that due to the lack of presence of telecommunication devices the healthcare professional could not make their communication with each other for the application of developed treatment to the patients (Getty, Morande, Lynskey, Weaver & Metrebian, 2019). On this note, partners faced issues, as the healthcare professional could not take the medical history of the patients from their previous service providers. Due to the lack of communication in the healthcare services, the care process of the service users was not performed with an effective format according to their health needs. At the time of taking healthcare services, people had to wait a long in the queue before the widespread popularity of the telephone.
