    Stop and Frisk law is officially known as ‘Stop, Question and Frisk Policy’ and is used on rampant by the New York Police Department. This law gives the New York Police Department the power to detain and subsequently question any pedestrian, and if the situation demands searching their body, in case that the police presume that there is a suspicion of reason that the pedestrian detained has committed, or committing, or going to commit a crime whether felony or penal (Gelman, Fagan & Kiss). Some argue that this law is necessary because it suppresses any potential act of crime, but to others it is a serious case of racial profiling because most victims of Stop and Frisk law are either black or Hispanic (Goel, Rao & Shroff).
