Philosophy cannot be completed without the introduction of Socratic thoughts which led to the development of Greek contemporaries and developed a system of critical reasoning. This period arose in 6th century BC when Greece was under Roman Empire (Hooper, 2017). Classical Philosophy was greatly influenced by Socrates and later his students like Plato and Aristotle. The key features which led to the growth of the subject were the eagerness to know the reality, presence of inquiring mind and the reflection of knowledge in human nature. The thesis statement for this paper is investigative mode of humans in the society they live.
Reality
The aim is not to change the world but to know the reality. The reality can be sensed and it is not just a being. Aristotle gave rhetoric view on it. He suggested his logics and categorized reality. The reason is it served a double function (Cunningham and Reich). The first function was to structure the reality and to arrange the world by describing it.
