AMERICA'S OPEN-DOOR POLICY WITH CHINA
In between the year 1899 and 1900 under the administration of President Mc Kinley, the United States took the ‘Open Door’ decision concerning the trade relationship between the other countries and China. Secretary John Hay articulated the ‘Open Door’ policies that promoted equal opportunity of international trade in China (Bailey 2019). The launch of the Open-Door Policies resulted in the threatening of the Boxer Rebellion that existed throughout China. The ‘Boxers’ were the anti-foreign and anti-imperial forces that worked within China (Karlsson 2018). These groups used to attack the foreign missionaries as well as Chinese who chose to convert into Christian. These Boxers started launching riots and attacks at foreign nationals in Beijing that pushed...
