Life for the minorities, the immigrants, in the United States has never been a
smooth sailing one and till date it is an ambiguous mode of life which the minorities
lead in the realm of the American society. By going through the selected passages meant
for reading and for acquiring further knowledge on the concerned issue I came to realize
that for the myriads of immigrants who emigrated from their native lands to the United
States in the pursuit of the American dream actually went through experiences that
differed from each other in various ways.
America, the land of opportunity, the land of liberty, equality, and real freedom is
not always the same for the innumerable immigrants who migrated into the United
States and gradually turned themselves in to the members of the minority communities.
In the United States myriads of immigrants are forced to give up their indigenous
identities and em
ace a new identity to suit themselves to the need of the American
society. I was amazed to learn about the story of Nguyen Nguu, the Vietnamese
