The point of this homework is to get you to engage with the data, to appreciate some large differences across countries, and to think through why it might matter for firms and workers in a global economy. There are no “right” answers to this homework. I’m looking for insight, and thoughtfulness.
At www.gapminder.org you will find a large amount of data for many countries over time, in
oad categories like education, energy, environment, health, infrastructure, population, work (the labor force). You can flexibly plot these data against each other to show relationships across countries and over time. Some of the clearest relationships are between some variable and per capita income, but other more interesting and subtle things can be found by poking around.
