Project
Fall 2020
Due Date: December 7 by 11:59 PM
Possible Points: 100
Information:
The goal of financial statement analysis is to make decisions using information provided by companies. As we have discussed, this information can be qualitative and quantitative.
You have been engaged by your client to aid them in making an investing decision. Your client has recently come into a cash wind-fall and would like to invest the monies into a public company. You will compare the financial results of three public companies, as released by the SEC, to aid in making the recommendation to your client. You may choose any three companies to compare for the purposes of your analysis.
Your final paper must include the following:
· Name and description of each company chosen
· Detailed discussion and analysis of the business environment in which the selected companies operate. You may use any structured system you like to conduct this analysis. Consider using SWOT analysis or Porter’s Five Forces as noted in our text book.
· A thorough quantitative analysis of the financial results using the mathematical ratios we have discussed during class. Certain ratios may not apply directly to the company in question. Use your best professional judgement on which, and how many ratios to include in your analysis. If they are relevant, feel free to include other ratios that we might not have discussed in class.
· Based on your analysis of the business environment and the quantitative ratios, create a projected income statement for each of your three companies for the next two fiscal years.
· Make a recommendation to your client regarding which company to deploy the investment into. Choose only one of the companies for your recommendation. Be sure to defend your conclusion using the data from the rest of the paper.
There is no minimum or maximum length for this assignment. Write enough to thoroughly discuss the topic and make your point.
Project include:
