Scope of Policy
This recruitment and selection policy applies to all employees who are involved in hiring for our company. It refers to all potential job candidates.
Policy elements
RECRUITMENT PROCESS
1. Identify need for an opening
2. Decide whether to hire externally or internally
3. Approval process must be obtained from Finance Manager and Human Resources
4. Review the job description and compose a job advertisement
5. Select appropriates sources (external or internal) for posting the opening.
6. Decide on the selection stages and possible timeframe
7. All applications (Internal and External) must be submitted online
SELECTION PROCEDURE
1. Applicant applies online.
2. HR receives application
3. HR will conduct phone interview and release the shortlist to interview committee.
4. Interview committee - Review applications/conduct interview and make recommendations.
5. Hiring authority - Employment recommendation forwarded to HR
6. HR review recommendations
7. HR conducts reference checks
8. HR contacts the applicant and will advise if successful or unsuccessful
9. For successful applicants accept job order
10. HR initiates hire
HIRING PROCEDURE
1. Call the successful applicant and offer the job.
2. Prepare the contract
3. Send the contract to the applicant
4. Once received the signed contract, set a date for induction.
INDUCTION PROCEDURE
1. Print the induction checklist
2. Print the employee’s handbook
3. Follow the checklist
4. Enter the details of the employee in the MANAGER ACCOUNTING system
5. Scan all the paper works and file to the employee’s folder in one drive
6. Contact the employee with start date and time.
