Data Set
Data set: ESS5CH.sav
All tasks of Assignment 02 use a data set from the European Social Survey (ESS). The ESS is a Europe-
wide survey whose data is freely available to researchers. The survey wave of the year 2010 includes,
among other things, an item battery for trust and an item battery for value orientation (the so-called
Schwartz values scale).
In Task 01 of this assignment, the following 8 items are used to assess trust:

pplfair Most people try to take advantage of you, or try to be fair
pplhlp Most of the time people helpful or mostly looking out for themselves
trstprl Trust in country's parliament
