Research on Thai culture
The aim of this assessment is to research and write a comparative analysis of your own culture of origin and any other culture that you consider to be in contrast with your own culture in light of the cultural frameworks discussed in the seminar.
Details:
- While national culture is composed of sub-cultures it is recommended that you focus on national cultures for this assessment.
- As a basis for your comparison, you should familiarise yourself with different cultural frameworks such as Fe
aro’s cultural universals, Trompennar’s cultural value dimensions, Hofstede’s cultural framework, and GLOBE project.
- Clearly define the cultural dimension/s of the cultural framework/s that you are going to apply to compare and contrast these two cultures.
- Identify subtle differences between these two cultures (artefacts, values, beliefs and basic assumptions).
- Discuss any similarity between your own culture of origin and the other culture of your choice in terms of artefacts, values, beliefs and basic assumptions.
- Critically analyse the implications of these cultural values, beliefs and basic assumptions on business environment in countries of those cultures as well as dealing with people from those cultures in any workplace.
- Support your arguments with appropriate references from scholarly sources. You should use at least six scholarly references, including the customised textbook to support your analysis and discussion. Cite those references in the text as well as in the reference list as demonstrated at
