Introduction
Cannabis is an addictive substance that has been related to legislative prohibition, although consumed by a significant number of people, including cele
ities. The consistency in the usage and cannabis and its legislative prohibition raised the questions, weather it would be better to legalise the use of cannabis, because prohibition is obviously not being able to restrict its usage. There has been significant amount of research conducted on the use, benefits as well as health issues relating to cannabis, making it a matter of polarising perspective formation. Cannabis, despite being illegal in most of the countries in the world, it has become a part of the society, although as a taboo, therefore, the thought of legalising its usages invokes imagination and indulges debate. In the cu
ent assignment, an argumentative approach is adapted to assess the probable impact of legal usage of cannabis on the society.
Discussion
Similar to that of alcohol, cannabis evokes strong addiction among people of all ages and prolonged consumption of the substance, wrecks havoc on the physical and mental health of people in the society. The numbing effect on the nervous system of a person consuming cannabis, promotes the argument that cannabis consumption make people at peace and less violent which can also contribute to the good ambience associated with the su
ounding society. As opined by Wilkins, (2016), cannabis is only an addictive substance similar to those of alcohol and tobacco and if these substances are legal, it can be said the cannabis should be legal as well. In context of physical illness, cannabis is often promoted as an organic substance that improves focus, gives stamina and boosts immunity of the human body. Based on extensive research, the cannabis plant seeds are considered as effective substances that act as good immunity booster, within the different health prospects. Accordingly, to Hurley, (2018), it can make human beings strong internally: with the help of these seeds, the people can fight the different frightening diseases. In favour of legalising cannabis, the experience of many healthcare users can also be considered relevant. As argued by Ngcobo (2019), the immunity against recu
ing health issues, both mental and physical have been found to improve in a number of people, consuming cannabis. The people with history of regular cannabis consumption also record less health oriented issues, favouring the benefits of cannabis.
From the economic perspective, cannabis does not register any legal benefits, although it is evident that people buy cannabis at higher prices....
