Data Analyst_ Career Analysis
Instructions
This one-page assignment consists of three parts:
· A
ief assessment of skills (not traits) one needs for a Data Analyst position.
· Consider the skills one needs to be successful in this line of work. Review cu
ent job postings (in the United States) to determine the interpersonal and technical skills that are listed in the minimum and prefe
ed qualifications areas for each posting. Make a list of the skills that are necessary.
· An assessment of cu
ent skills as they pertain to qualifications listed in job postings.
· Now, reflect on skill levels to determine where you need to enhance your skills in order to be competitive in the job market and for promotions.
· A plan with resources for you to gain those skills – conduct online research to develop a list with links to readings, videos, certifications, etc.
The final step requires you to do online research to create a list of resources (with links) for yourself to use in order to enhance or gain skills relevant to your field of interest. These resources could include taking formal classes (which ones?), watching YouTube videos (include the links), reading books or articles (include the title or a link to the article), or informal practice with certain software applications (which ones?).
Please refer to the ‘Sample Professional Development Assessment and Plan.pdf’ for what the solution should look like.
