A Message from the CEO
Dear Employees, I wish to personally thank you for your professionalism and continued dedication to Tramalway Industries. Last year was certainly the most challenging year our company has faced in its proud history and I would like to take this opportunity to dispel some of the rumours circulating around some of the issues that arose. Obviously, the most serious matter for Tramalway Industries was the media investigation into the ongoing use of child labour in Bangladeshi manufacturing facilities. The investigation revealed that one of our suppliers, Golden Goods Ltd, engaged manufacturers in Bangladesh that employ child labour to produce their products. This situation was not known to us and was a clear
each of our supply contract with Golden Goods Ltd. We therefore terminated our contract with Golden Goods Ltd. The good news is we were able to find a replacement supplier relatively quickly – a local supplier that operates within our own metropolitan area. This new local supplier means that our percentage of products and services purchased locally has risen to 75% of our total procurement budget. Plus the materials from our new supplier are both renewable and recyclable which means our total weight for non-renewable materials has decreased to 55 tonnes while our total weight for renewable materials has increased to 45 tonnes. And our total weight for recycled input materials has increased to 25 tonnes. The second serious issue faced by Tramalway Industries this year was the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) investigation into our recent marketing communications. The investigation found that Tramalway Industries had engaged in false and misleading conduct and issued an Infringement Notice with a penalty of $12,600. Tramalway Industries paid the fine and updated our marketing policies to ensure future compliance with all Australian Consumer Law provisions. The third serious issue was a significant fuel spill at our warehouse in Chemora, Queensland. Approximately 8 kilolitres of fuel spilled from a rupture in one of the fuel tanks into the soil around its base. The spill soaked directly into the ground and we have sprayed the affected area with liquid hydroca
oneating bacteria to remediate the soil. It has certainly been a challenging year for us but we all must remember there have been some great wins too. The Federal Government awarded our organisation with a $15 million research and development grant that we will use to continue our
eakthrough research into biotechnology. This was also the year we completed our $10 million health and welfare centre project in Dolan Bay, SA. This centre will provide much needed support to families coping with a range of social issues completely free of charge. It is an extremely worthy initiative and demonstrates our clear commitment to the social well-being of those that are less fortunate in our community. Finally, our employee training program on human rights was launched this year and has already completed 100 hours of training on aspects of human rights that are relevant to our operations. This means that 35% of our employees have been trained in human rights principles ranging from gender equality to human dignity and respect. With your continued hard work and support I am extremely confident that Tramalway Industries can build further upon our success in the coming year.
Kind regards, Phil Tramalway

Introduction
The success of a business is determined by its growth and expansion across the market in which it operates and the sustainability it maintains in the market. To keep an account of the changes in sustainability levels over a specific time, generally one year, every Company engages in preparing a detailed report reading the ups and downs in the sustainability graph. This report is made every year which particular readings and knowledge of sustainability. The Global Reporting Initiative(GRI) standard of reporting sustainability is the simplest and easiest method of communicating the social economic and environmental sustainability and what impacts do they show on the overall durability of the Company over one year. Tramalway Industries has also adopted this method of sustainability reporting to understand the sustainability difference and the difficulties, if any, which the Company identifies as to be putting negative impacts on the Company's sustainability.
Background
A GRI reporting standard measures the sustainability of the business through three areas of sustainability. These are economic sustainability, environmental sustainability, and social sustainability. The first factor determines the overall financial growth or contraction of the business. In contrast, the other two mainly report on how the operations of the business impact the environment and society separately(Cala
ese, Costa, Ghiron, Menichini, 2019). A successful modern business considers finding out new ways to contribute to the welfare of the environment and society. These contributions are generally made through effective waste management, control of pollution as well as reducing ca
on emission and consumption, also through the basic ethics of recruitment and social awareness. It is the way of keeping the investors and stakeholders convinced about the authenticity of the operations of the business.
Methodology
The GRI standards of Sustainability Reporting are the foremost and most initiative organization of the world that has introduced such a reporting standard or, instead, a method of reporting the sustainability of the Company. If the three main components of sustainability, economic, social, and environmental, are maintained at specific levels, then it is evident that the overall business sustainability of the organization is well maintained. For identifying the appropriate topics in relevance to their business type, there is a set of issues or standards which has been set out by the GRI board to ensure a simple way of identifying and preparing sustainability report by analyzing the individual factors. The '100 series' of topics starting from 100 stands for the general or universal standards that all types of organizations can consider to apply. The other three categories of standards beginning in 200,300 and 400 stand for economic, environmental, social sustainability factors, respectively. Each report is tallied with the description of the previous year to determine sustainability growth over one year(Boiral, Henri, 2017).
A. Economic Sustainability
A business when successfully maintains its profit maximization and economic development as well as earns any economic assistance from the Government or any other authority, it is called as an economically sustainable business. The overall financial growth and its sustainability are analyzed under this particular '200 series' of the GRI standard. Tramalway Industries finds three specific topics from this series as the most relevant standards to their business report in the cu
ent reporting year. These are the three remarkable economic sustainability factors that Tramalway is required to consider before preparing and presenting a GRI report(Orazalin, Mahmood, 2019).
