Applied ResearchFor this week's discussion, consider recent high-profile cases from around the nation and cities that have experienced protests suounding police and the deadly use of force. From a criminological research perspective, suppose you wanted to conduct a study to identify strategies for addressing community members' distrust of the police. Given all that you have learned to this point, how would you design the research study? In responding to this question, be sure to address the following items:· Discuss the type of data (quantitative and/or qualitative) you would collect and explain your rationale for the choice;· Explain the sampling strategy you would use, including the type of sampling you would use to select a representative sample of the community;· Identify the types of data collection tools you would use to collect data;· Describe the descriptive statistics you would use to present the study results; and· Explain how the results could be used to develop specific reforms to address issues related to race, diversity, and police use of force.

I think this week's discussion on police negligence, brutality and sheer mistreatments of resource was very intriguing and moving. By the virtue of several cases, we studied where people have experienced the protest surrounding the police and deadly use of force. From a criminology perspective, it was enlightening for me and fellow classmates about deeper aspects of the research. I would specially base my research on a movement which emerged because of Police Brutality that is the Black Life Matters (DEI Weekly Meeting, feat Dr. John H. McClendon III, 8.6.20, 2020). What might have started as a reaction to the police brutality, injustice and systematic racism had become something bigger than just a protest. 
For this research, I would like to base my research on hard facts and data. Hence, I will leverage the quantitative research to comprehend how many people have experienced police brutality, use of force and negligence in the country. By applying quantitative tools, I would be able to gather data that can offer me deep insights on statistics and how deeply this problem penetrates in the country.
I will use Random Sampling method, since it will help me to reduce various biases that can creep in the research and distort the result.
