Research Proposal Revision
Look ahead at the requirements for the CJ598 Research Project due in Unit 6.
Review your CJ525 instructor’s feedback based on the preliminary research proposal that you submitted in Unit 6 of CJ525. You will now begin to revise your proposal based on this feedback as well as the information and materials presented throughout the unit. After considering feedback and these materials, you will expand the literature review and methods sections of your proposal and add a new section discussing the influence of organizational behavior on your proposed research.
As you expand the literature review in this unit and again in Unit 6, consider whether the studies you have already reviewed specifically address your problem statement, research question, and hypothesis. If not, locate additional research that focuses directly on the problem and the research question you are attempting to address with your study. Consider the following:
· Does your research question/hypothesis fill a gap in the research that has not previously been explored? If not, how can you expand or revise your project so that the study would provide a significant contribution to the field?
· After learning about what scholars have discovered about your topic, should your research question or hypothesis be changed? It is common for researchers to revise some or all of their research questions/hypotheses based on the information learned during the literature review process. Consider how you might refine your research hypothesis/question to reflect what you have learned from the literature.
Revise your research proposal by completing each of the following:
· Initial Revisions: Turn on Track Changes in Microsoft® Word® to edit your proposal and display all the changes that you make during Unit 1. You will submit the assignment showing your edits to the proposal with Track Changes turned on. Address any feedback from your CJ525 instructor and from information provided during the first unit in CJ598. Be sure that all sections of the proposal previously required for the CJ525 Unit 6 Assignment are included. Refer back to the CJ525 Unit 6 Assignment instructions to review those requirements.
· Organizational Behavior: Add a new section between the problem statement and literature review that discusses issues related to organizational behavior and day-to-day management in your study setting. In particular, discuss the theoretical principles of organizational behavior, as outlined in the unit readings. Identify which of these principles apply to the study setting in your proposed research. For example, can your study site be characterized as having a centralized administration? This is a characteristic that can have a distinct impact on data collection and interpretation. After identifying each of the organizational behavior principles that apply to your study site, describe the organizational culture in your study setting in terms of individuals, groups, leadership, management, goals, and values. Explain how the organizational culture could influence your data collection and interpretation of results, discussing steps you could take to overcome these potential obstacles.
· Literature Review: Add a review of five additional research studies (for a total of at least 10 altogether) to the literature review section of your proposal. Be sure to select sources that present original research reported in peer-reviewed sources. As outlined above, try to locate articles that directly address your stated problem and research question/hypothesis.
· Research Design: Based on the information from Unit 1, add the two new sub-sections referenced below to your research design (also known as the methods section of the research proposal). You will add these to the elements to those you previously created in this section for CJ525 (research purpose, study variables and conceptual definitions, research hypothesis, research goals, data approach, and ethical considerations). The new sections should include the following:
· Operational Definitions: (Add after the study variables and conceptual definitions you already developed): Fully operationalize each of your independent and dependent variables, ensuring that the attributes for each are mutually exclusive and exhaustive. Identify the level of measurement you will use for each variable. For example, if your dependent variable is recidivism, for purposes of your study, you might decide to operationalize the variable as the number of criminal convictions an offender receives within 12 months of program completion, which is a ratio level of measurement.
· Validity and Reliability: Discuss potential threats to face validity, content validity, criterion-related validity, and construct validity in your study and explain how you could design your study to avoid these threats. Consider how your operational definitions might impact the validity of your measures. Finally, discuss how you could address threats to reliability in your proposed study. Identify steps you could take during data collection to improve the consistency of measurement across study subjects and how you would evaluate the reliability of your study.

Introduction
With the flare-up of the pandemic that is because of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), there has been a
oad of it among the detainees. The populace at prison is almost 11 million around the world. The restricted space and offices restrict them from rehearsing the prudent steps, for example, social removing and hand sterilization. This people group is practically disregarded, and the approach creators ought to likewise zero in on tending to their necessities (Franco PC, et al., XXXXXXXXXXThe space inside the co
ectional facilities being restricted, keeping up appropriate social removing was a test. The detainees were at high danger of getting seriously contaminated that may even prompt passing. Not many of the US jails have the office to oblige a flood in wiped out considers like that occu
ed during the Spanish flu pandemic (Hawks L, et al., XXXXXXXXXXThere were not many conventions and security estimates, for example, social removing, hand disinfecting that should have been carefully followed to remain safe. In any case, these are practically inconceivable in the restorative offices (Rubin R., XXXXXXXXXXYet, this won't help in bearing the total wellbeing costs of the detained people. Certain a
angements, for example, dodging pointless prison affirmations, conceding the indictment of minor cases and a
ival of individuals in pretrial confinement should be possible to relieve the potential damages (Hawks L, et al., 2020).
The unbalanced effect of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) among the US detainees is generally important for the wellbeing dissimilarity parts of the viral disease. Nobody can be viewed as protected until everybody is protected, thus the detainees additionally have the advantage to be ensured and remained careful by forestalling and alleviating the viral disease in the custodial settings (Franco PC, et al., XXXXXXXXXXAccording to the assertion from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), individuals who are imprisoned or confined hail from various areas, the rate to contaminations is presumably high among them. Taking into account this, the penitentiaries and co
ectional facilities have prohibited the guests (Rubin R., XXXXXXXXXXCertain a
angements, for example, dodging pointless prison affirmations, conceding the indictment of minor cases and a

On the off chance that at all the detainees are to be delivered into the local area, suitable estimates, for example, convenient development of those with persistent ailments, improving the openness and moderateness of wellbeing net projects like Medicaid ought to be supported (Hawks L, et al., 2020).
As the staff individuals and the detained individuals move all through the premises, the odds of disease are more among them. A portion of the supporters have proposed the a

Problem Statement:
This study aims to understand the impact of the release of inmates from the jail to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among the prisoners. This study will help to understand if releasing them will provide a solution for the pandemic spread in the jail.
All the prisoners in the jails across US would be considered for this study. It would be conducted retrospectively for a period of 3 months from April to June of 2020, as this was the peak time of spread and would give relevant data of the same.
Literature Review:
Introduction:
The Hillsborough County Sheriff has ordered the release of the inmates from the jail in order to prevent the spread of COVID. The managements of jail and officials had taken several cautious measures to protect the populace at prison either by hand sanitizing or by social removing. As mentioned by Andrews (2017), the detainers were at high risk of getting affected from this spread as not each US jail has the equal co
ectional facilities. This study will help to understand the consequence of the release of the inmates from the jail in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among all the prisoners inside the jail and the way this release can provide a solution from the pandemic spread.
Theoretical Considerations:
According to the research hypothesis studied in the earlier unit this retrospective observational study highlights to understand the impact of the release of the inmates from the jail in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among the prisoners in jail. As stated by Rubin (2020), this hypothesis helps to study that whether this release of the inmates is fruitful in preventing the spread of coronavirus among the prisoner or not. The independent variables state the releasing of the inmates by implementing several safety net programs and initiating necessary a
angements within the custodial settings inside the prison.
On the other hand, the dependent variables state the reduction of the spread in order to mitigate and prevent from the Coronavirus among the prisoners. The constructive results would help this study to modify the policies for prisoners, in terms of safety in the priority list with few limitations for the release. If the spread continues within the prison, which would affect the lives of the prisoners, then the US prisoners will be set free outside the jail (Hawks, Woolhandler & McCormick, 2020).

Introduction
The proposed study is aimed my aim was at understanding the impact of the release of inmates from the Hillsborough County Jail to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among the prisoners. The Sheriff of Hillsborough County, Mr Chad Chronister explained the incident which led to the release of 164 inmates who were charged with low-level crimes. The entire nation stood in shock with the massive spread of COVID-19 and called for immediate lockdown. According to Sheriff inmates who were freed, couldn’t afford bail and police department wouldn’t have any answers to their charges (Andrews, J., 2017).
Primary Research Questions
Primary research question revolves around the impact of releasing 164 inmates. As per the reports and metanalysis the crimes did go, since 15 out of these 154 inmates who were released were re-a
ested on new charges. Majority of inmates released were homeless and living in certain facilities that offer the services to homeless. Many are unemployed and totally dependent on others to fulfil their necessary needs. This action perhaps helped the jail system to minimise the susceptibility of the spread in the jail.
Problem Statement
The proposed study will examine the issue of impact of release of inmates from the jail and how to prevent the penetration of this virus among prisoners by collecting data from primary and secondary research located in public domain as well as conducting the in-depth interviews, to determine if by releasing the inmates actually helped in reducing the spread of the virus a analyse the repercussions on the society in terms of increasing or decree of crime rate. The study is anticipated to begin May, 2020 and be completed by July 2020. research on all the juridical systems encompassing all the jails across the USA analysing in retrospective the actions especially in a time span of 3 to 4 months i.e., from April to June, 2020 since this was the peak time of the spread and would seek relevant data for the study (Crow, M. S., Snyder, J. A., Crichlow, V. J., & Smykla, J. O., 2017).
Literature Review
According to a research, most of the prison jurisdiction system all over the US has provided information regarding the measures that had been taken for the prisoners in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 across the co
ection facilities (Fan, M. D., 2019). This study focuses on certain preventive measures that will reduce the risk rate of spreading the virus and study have chosen to educate the prisoners to hand sanitize properly and maintain a social distance so as avoid the spread. As supported by Franco-Paredes et al., it highlights three main initiations— firstly, mass testing within the co
ection facilities, secondly, providing ample supply of PPEs and thirdly, educating as well as making the prisoners understand the importance of hand sanitization and usage of it (Fan, M. D., 2019).
Particularly in this domain of releasing the inmates from the Hillsborough County Sheriff is been deeply analysed and refe
ed to. Furthermore, as mentioned in the hypothesis this research is conducted in retrospective as mentioned before while conducting the observational study. To...
