Case details: In the sharp printing case, the company planned to introduce a color laser printer for consumers and businesses with budget of less than $ 200. The top management on the basis of their experience decides the major deliverables, launch dates and estimated cost of the entire project. Then a meeting was scheduled for sharing all the specifications and project details to the middle level management. Since Lauren was skeptic about the high risk of this project, she was chosen as the project manager. The estimation of entire project was compiled to decide on the rationality of top management and the outcomes were around $ 125000. This was around 20 5 more than the expected cost. Along with this the required time was also 4 months more than that of the expected time. 
This situation depicts that there is some flaw in the management of project as estimated cost and time of project are actually not that what was expected.
1. In this situation, if I would be the project manager then first of all I would prepare the detailed report about the existing situation with the help of priority matrix that clarify all the required priorities. Then build a research consortium that mentions specifically the requirement of extra cost and time with highlighted reasons for the most obvious question “why?
