Summary of the research that is located
It is found out by a new study namely the Center for American Progress that there are still a lot of LGBT people who continue to face discrimination in the workplace, in their personal lives, and in public places. The widespread discrimination is continuously shaping the lives of LGBT people in both significant and subtle ways. 
The experience of the LGBT community in the US is quite different from India. American people are considering the LGBT community as the beginning of a new era in the history of America. This country is setting up a remarkable example by providing equal rights to the LGBT people and US is also embracing a more inclusive and new family life. There have been two landmark Supreme Court Cases, a lot of state legislatures, and some of the trends in the US that showcases full legal recognition of the marriages of same-sex partners (Witeck, 2014). As per surveys, it is indicated that more than 70% of Americans at present are supporting marriage equality so that LGBT people may wed. Arguably, earlier American people were against gay weddings. 
Despite the above-mentioned advances a lot of LGBT people in America have reported that they are continuously facing real discrimination in all segments of their life. Furthermore, there is no federal law that prevents an individual from being refused a job or fired based on sexual orientation. One such example is of the U.S. military, as they discriminate openly against lesbians and gays. 
In the case of India, this is even more different as most of the people in this country think that the concept of the LGBT community is against their cultural norms. So, LGBT people suffer. It is stated by a lot of the LGBT people from urban and rural parts of India that lesbian females are subjected to rapes that are family-sanctioned and it is conducted by their family members. The experiences of LGBT people in India also face isolation from their families.
