The New German Cinema was that particular period of German cinema from 1962 to 1982 that give rise to new generation of directors that influence the new wave of French and Italian new realism. This was in particular a reaction towards the economic stagnation of German cinema that enabled the directors to work in low budgets and was influenced by the growth of a number of small motion pictures.
