The Native Americans during the 18th century in Alta California resisted the adversities faced during the mission period. This was known as the mission period as the native Indians in American were Christianized. It also included destruction of non-Christianized towns by the Spanish armed forces. This resulted in the Native Americans running away to other parts of America for their life. The natives were tortured who attempted to practice indigenous religious practices.
