The most prominent figure of the Civil Rights Movement, Reverend Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr. led the African Americans to acquire their legitimate rights during the
1950s and 1960s. His meticulous orations and his keen sense of leading the African
Americans in a positive way did actually pave the way for the blacks to have equal rights
in the white dominated society of the United States of America. Just like the other
African American leaders of his time and of the years prior to his emergence, Martin
Luther King, Jr. was well aware of the oppressions which were inflicted upon the African
Americans and how they were discriminated on undue grounds. The menace of
segregation and discrimination was turning the lives of innumerable African Americans
in the United States and it was at this juncture that Martin Luther King, Jr. emerged as a
savior of the black community that was afraid of sustaining its existence amidst of the
