15% of final course grade
The Assignment:
Your company (Half Baked) bakes and supplies various
ead products to supermarkets, sports venues, and commercial kitchens. Their list of goods include:
· Croissants
· Bagels
· Hamburger buns
· Sliced
ead
· Sourdough
ead
· Pita
ead
· Roti
Based on the company’s success, Tim Hortons has put Half Baked on a short list of companies invited to bid on a contract to supply pita
ead. Tim Hortons is planning to product pilot a new Medite
anean inspired sandwich across 50 of its busiest franchises beginning in October 2020. You must provide enough pita
ead to supply the entire 6 months of the product pilot. Each of the 50 franchises will need 500 pitas per day starting in October 1st, 2020.
Your assignment is to create a scope statement that will describe the scope of this project. The scope statement will include:
· Project justification: – description of the need that the project is intending to address. Note: the project justification should address why/how the project will benefit Half Baked – not Tim Hortons (i.e. why Half Baked would take on this project).
· Project summary: – high level description of the product or service being created by the project
· Project deliverables: both in scope and out of scope deliverables (use an in-scope/out-of-scope table). Note: as part of your in-scope deliverables, you will need to provide a detailed description of the pita
ead that Half Baked will supply to Tim Hortons. Indicate both ‘product’ and ‘project’ in-scope deliverables.
· Project assumptions: for the purpose of this assignment, you may assume that Half Baked has the production capacity and staff to complete this project. Include any additional assumptions pertaining to the project
· Project constraints: describe any constraints pertaining to the project.
You will need to conduct research in order to complete this scope statement. Be sure to cite your sources.
Note: this assignment should not exceed three typed pages (single spaced, 12-point font) including your in-scope/out-of-scope table. Use headings and bullet points, where possible).
Groups can be between 1 and 6 students and you are to form groups on your own, the instructor will not be creating groups. You can complete individually if you like however joining a group is recommended as it will provide a better learning experience. Only one group member should submit. Please ensure that all group members names and student numbers are on the submitted document.
