I selected the coastal construction method with using CMU blocks with a coat of stucco I like your thought being your idea.

Although Florida areas need to resist to the weather elements such as hurricanes I feel the material you'd use would be sufficient with the building needs. However, I would like to know a cost per sqft and what the longevity and maintenance needed over time to see if this type of building would be sufficient for this use. It seems like the green elements you'd bring would include the location, with an ideal location you'd limit your potential MEP cost and use the building location to keep heating and cooling in. Great post.

What type of block would be recommended?
