When Sandburg claimed that “most enduring memorial to Lincoln is invisibly there, today, tomorrow, and for a long time yet to come in the hearts of lovers of liberty”, the first reaction to this would be respect towards a figure like Abraham Lincoln, who does not need a monument to be remembered. Because in this world, wherever there is freedom, it is evident that there have been sacrifices behind it. Freedom has always required efforts and struggles and therefore leading to sacrifices. 
2. a. According to Sandburg, people consider Lincoln as their own because during his time as the president, noticeably in the first three months he resigned his position as a powerful dictator, commanding armies and leading them to war. He also thought for people and abolished the rights of habeas corpus.
