Hi, I am taking Business Policy Class, which is BPL5100.I will have a short essay quiz in tomorrow class. But the problem is that professor will give the questions in class right after start the class on Oct 7, 9:05AM (New York, U.S time)You can read the Wall Street Journal News Paper in advance, what I posted in here, then you need to answer short essay paper in a Word Document during 1 hours and 10 min on tomorrow class. Is it possible?I mean can the expert be ready to take a quiz on time in my class?

Answer1. Current CEO of GM Marry Barra has a strong reasoning of shrinking the organisation.GM as an organisation grew to such a scale and became so huge that it became difficult to manage it. The span of expansion of GM was so large with heavy middle layer executives that company wasn’t able to comprehend whether parts of the business were making success or losses. As per Marry Barra, her vision is all electric future where there is zero emission, zero combustion and zero accident. Hence, she is trying to cut the losses or business which as per her would decline in near future. GM needs to focus on what are its priorities as per business strategy and it has to stop trying to be everything for all the people. Lastly, the underlying principle on which Marry works on is that GM can't survive on loss making areas and business (Colias, M., 2020). The pivot in operations is imperative for not only survival but growth in future.
Yes, Indeed, I agree with Marry Barra's decision. Yes, I know it’s tough since GM has always been branded as biggest automobile organisation but the very fact it was getting too comfortable with this had taken the organisation to bankruptcy in the year 2009. As explained in the case, many branches of the organisation weren’t performing well rather they were in constant losses. For instance, the Thailand branch was making losses hence I feel Marry did the right decision of closing the operations and investing that capital where it is required the most. Second reason why I agree to Mary’s decision is because if we analyse the legacy of GM it was getting too bureaucratic and too heavy in the middle layer. It was imperative to shed off the extra weight in order to move forward, save from the expenses and invest judiciously on the projects that is aligned to the business strategy. Third reason why I strong believe that it was a tough move but required for the survival of the organisation. Primarily, GM closed many operations from several geography that were already plagued with intense competition like India or cutting operations from countries where there were governmental issues.
