1. The Team
The team consists of ___ members. The names of the members of the team are as follows.
2. Scope
The team proposes to design and install a new handball court in the University of Aleppo at Aleppo, Syria. The handball court is to be located in the_________. The hand ball court will serve the students of all the faculties, owing to its central location.
The handball court is necessary to fulfill the needs of a new local handball team open to Auckland residents between the ages of 10-14 years. This requires the newly added court to be up to date with handball codes all while maintaining its strength through each season of the year, but will not be used during winter. The court will also be made of concrete due to the community bond budgets as well as to sustain the rainy weather in Auckland. The court should also be designed to have a life of at least 15 years as requested by the community, as well as meeting the minimum standards for concrete slabs and mild to severe salt exposure from the ocean.
3. Environment
General weather in Syria - The climate in Syria is Medite
anean on the coast, with mild, rainy winters and hot, sunny summers. In the inland areas, the climate is arid subtropical in with moderately cold winters and sweltering, sunny summers. Throughout the country summer is sunny. The air humidity is high on the coast and low in the rest of the country.
Specific information about Aleppo
Location - It lies on 398m above sea level
Climate - local steppe climate
Rainfall - There is not much rainfall in Aleppo all year long. 338 mm | 13.3 inch per yea
Average annual temperature - 17.1 °C | 62.8 °F

own. The content of water-soluble sulfate in the lower strata of soil is moderate.
4. Composite Section
The above figure shows the cross section of the composite floor.
Composite slab are composed of profiled steel deck with reinforced cast-in-situ concrete slab on the top. The steel deck serves dual purpose. It acts as permanent form to the concrete and providing the required shear bond after the concrete has attained the target strength. This type of construction is categorized as composite since the concrete slab and the steel deck act together structurally as one single unit.
5. Mix Design
The steps involved in the mix design are described in following sections.
1. Strength Requirement
a. The Specified compressive strength (f ‘ c ) = 4000 psi.    (assumed)
. Standard deviation, s = 300 psi (given)
c. Required compressive strength (f ‘ cr ) = (f ‘ c + 1.34 * s) psi
                    = 4000 + (1.34 * 300) = 4402 psi
2. Wate
Cement Ratio
a. The rainfall is low and the region is devoid of snow or freezing temperatures. For this cause, we will adopt Non-Air-Entrained Concrete. The...
