Hello, I need help with a few assignments for my communications class. I will post all the attachments for the assignments here. The assignment questions will be provided and its guidelines on what to do. The book I am using for this class is Wood, Julia T. Chapter 5- Discussion Post- Nonverbal communication
In an online setting, verbal communication is the dominant way of communication. Nonverbal communication is difficult and can often lead to misunderstanding. I can recall an online meeting with my colleagues conducted on imo that went totally out of hand due to network problems. Since it was not possible to engage in non-verbal communication and verbal communication as both were interrupted, we had to eventually end the meeting. 
We faced multiple problems in the meeting, including noise resulting in broken pictures. This distorted the Physical Appearance of many individuals, which made them uncomfortable. We all had a good laugh about it too. The video often got stuck resulting in confusion of expressions and intentions. So, the Kinesics were distorted and could result in misunderstanding. In addition to this, the presentations made for the meeting didn’t go through and hence the meeting agenda couldn’t be completed. It ended up wasting our time and effort. The Chronemics here explains how everyone’s time was wasted (Wood, 2016, p.91- p.101).
As a result of network issues, we couldn’t complete our meeting and wasted precious time and resources. Hence due to lack of proper verbal and nonverbal communication, the online setting had to be terminated. I thus believe, that for online communication, verbal communication is the ideal mode of communication. If non-verbal communication can be used in association, then it is better.
