H61LSA/Mini project P R O J E C T D E S C R I P T I O N L a bo r a t or y Sk il l s A : P r o j e c t D e s c r i pt i o n 1 Introduction This is a group project and will be carried out in groups of three. The project concerns the construction and testing of an electronic circuit using bread board and PCB, and it forms part of the module H61LSA. The objectives of the project are ? Development of self study skills ? Development of project management skills ? Development of good team working practice ? Development of technical skills including simple circuit construction, simple PCB design and using necessary equipments to test the constructed circuit. This document provides the project requirements. Further information will be supplied when necessary. You should perform the circuit construction before attending the laboratory, and use the laboratory for testing purpose. Read this instruction carefully before attempting the project work! 2 Circuit construction Figure 1 is a block diagram of the circuit. It is divided into three sections: signal 1 generator, waveform selector and filter rectifier . Some of the work tasks involved are: 2 ? Construct the circuit, each section on a separate breadboard ? Include a switch in each circuit (not shown in the circuit diagrams) ? Test the circuits (See appendix 1 for details) ? Connect a LED at the output of each circuit (See appendix 2 details) 3 ? Design a PCB for each session of the circuit and then give it for fabrication . 3 ? Assemble the components on the PCB, solder and finally test the circuit. 1 The circuit diagrams can be found in appendix 7. 2 Each group can collect one complete set of components including bread boards from the DA20 at no cost. But if a component is lost / damaged, then same can be be purchased from the faculty store. The collection date will be informed in the class. 3. Details of the schedule are...
