Between Haiti and DR- the conflicted Haitian immigrants
Haiti and DR seem to be at odds with each other. However, the main population that bears the burden of these odds are the Haitian immigrants who travel to DR for a better livelihood. One main point regarding controversy between the two countries would be the employment factor. As one of the interviewees pointed out, unemployment in DR is high and with Haitians migrating in, the chances for jobs are even less for the local population but where do the Haitians with an already worsened economy go? (Joseph, n.d.).
