Advanced GE courses require a minimum of 3000 words of writing. In this
course, you will write 2 papers of at least 1000 words each. Combined with
your case study writing, you will definitely complete this requirement, if not a bit
more. Follow these instructions for the paper:
Choose 2 DIFFERENT CASE STUDIES FOR EACH
PAPER - these can be cases we discuss or those we don’t;
as long as they are from the course materials, any case
study will work. NOTE: for this class a case study
involves a historical event that is studied and analyzed.
All of our discussion topics are case studies EXCEPT
THE FIRST ONE. The video on The Yes Men (which
involve many cases, so keep that in mind), Blackwater,
and the UBI discussion are all case studies as well as the
cases in the course text that specifically have “Case
Study” in the title Oh, and for both the Yes Men video and
in the text the Bhopal disaster is definitely a case study.
2. You are to analyze both case studies chosen using
ONLY ONE of the following ethical theories FOR
EACH PAPER: Kantian Deontology, Utilitarianism,
Ethics of Care Theory, Virtue Ethics, Friedman’s
Stockholder Theory, Freeman’s Stakeholder Theory,
Ho
esian Realism.
3. Make sure you provide a paragraph that accurately
describes the theory you will be using.
4. Make sure you describe the case study before you apply
the theory. Ultimately, you are to determine whether the
actions taken by the individuals/companies in the case
studies are ethical according to the theory you have chosen
to apply. Explain.
5. Provide a general assessment of the paper: What have you
learned?

ii. This paper should be no less than 1000 words and no more than
what is necessary. These papers should be well written, typed,
doubled spaced, 12 point font, Times New Roman (Or equivalent
font). No cover sheet needed. Include proper citation.
iii. Submit the paper by the day it is due no later than 11:59 (Pacific

In the following assignment, two case studies have been chosen such as the UBI discussion and the Blackwater. Both case studies are described in brief in the following assignment, moreover, a suitable theory of ethical practices will be chosen for describing whether the participants in both cases studies are ethical or not.

The first chosen case study is the UBI discussion for this paper. Recently OECD published a methodological note and a policy brief that was aimed at analyzing the benefits and costs of Basic Income (Johnson et al., 2020).
