Essays - Each student is required to submit a writing assignment, and may choose either of following three (students are not required to do both options):
· Concert Review: Guidelines listed below
· Comparison/Contrast: Select two compositions from any musical period (includes present day). In your essay, make sure to include the composer of each piece and (if applicable) any significance behind the conception of each piece. Using musical terms learned in class, discuss the ways in which each composition differs from one another as well as what similarities they might also share.

All writing submissions must contain no LESS than 500 words - typed and organized into FIVE paragraphs (each paragraph must be at least five sentences long). Each essay must also utilize musical terms learned in class. Students are required to include at least 5 musical terms per essay.
