Project #2 will be due by end of Thur, Dec 9. You are encouraged to discuss ideas with other students and consult references, but your work must be your own.
Project#2 is optional. You may complete it to earn upto 100pts extra in Homework assignments/Quizzes category.
In this project, you will learn how to use an online logic circuit schematic design and simulation tool called circuitverse.org to design and test a 3-pair 2-rail code checker.
Circuitverse lets you create complex circuits by allowing you to create your own custom components and including them in other circuits, as if they were any other built-in component. These larger circuits can then also be included in other designs as sub-components.
When you have finished designing your circuit, Circuitverse offers an interactive simulation feature, allowing you to control your circuit and explore down inside hierarchical sub-components whilst the circuit is running. Circuitverse also allows you to produce logic timing diagrams from your simulation's activity.
Complete the following steps and electronically submit requested screenshots via Canvas course website:
1. Sign up circuitverse.org to save your project online.
2. Log in and launch simulator.
3. Make sure to go through Tutorial Guide available under Help menu so you can get familiar with Circuitverse.
4. Design a 3-pair 2-rail code checker as discussed in Self-checking checkers chapter.
5. Test your circuit by inputting some valid/invalid 3-pair 2-rail codewords.
6. Save your project online. Make sure to choose Public option.
7. Submit URL of your project on Canvas.
