There are some important features of some of the minority cultures in America 
from which the mainstream Americans can always learn. There are instances in the 
cultures of the frontiersmen, in the culture of the rancher or the cowboy community 
from which the mainstream Americans can gradually learn some important lessons of 
life. Today’s American society has become a consumerist society and the degree of the 
effect of consumerism on the American society has been much greater than what it used 
to be in the late 19th century and the 20th century. And now is the perfect time for the 
mainstream Americans to learn something from the minority cultures to sustain their 
own psychological and spiritual wellbeing.  
It is a truth that today’s American society and the majority of the members of this 
American society are deviating from the path of transforming the American dream into 
reality. The American dream which is composed of a truly equal society composed of 
individuality, freedom, and human mental satisfaction more than the material gains, is 
gradually fading away.
