After listening to the podcast (https:

NOTE: The part of the podcast we will focus on is "Iggy + Children of the Dirt." You may also listen to "Paige's Story" if you wish but this is not required.
1. Why are categories so important in Marketing? How do they influence the ways in which consumers process information about offerings? How do they facilitate differentiation?
· By "categories" I mean a superordinate judgment about what an offering "is" to the target consumer. For example, is Red Bull an energy drink? A bar drink? A morning drink?
2. What are some potential risks of pursuing a strategy aimed at strongly influencing consumer perceptions of categorization?
3. How do “categories” explain the success of the Indian retirement community discussed in the podcast in the midst of a major housing market crisis?
Previous reflection feedback:
For future writing, some more "polish" would help to more effectively communicate your ideas. For example, structuring your work as one giant paragraph makes it more difficult to follow. I recognize this is a small writing assignment, but I think it is good practice to get into the habit of always communicating as succinctly and straightforwardly as possible. Then, on the big assignments (and tasks for work), it's almost like second nature!
