Consider radiation in the Earth-atmosphere system, and answer the following question.
If the Earth experienced an increase in albedo 4% to 8%, how much incoming shortwave radiation(in W/m2, 2 is square) would be absorbed by the surface?
I don't understand and know how to solve that one problem.
I am pretty sure that you would solve that problem in 10 minutes.
It's just one simple problem, so I expect to have reasonable charge for this

As earth receives the solar energy actually the cross-section of earth is taken into
account as π*Re2 but since earth does keep rotating so actually the energy abso
ed
y earth is through total surface area i.e 4 π*Re2.
So the total incoming shortwave radiation abso
ed by the earth is given as
S*(1-α)/4
Where S is solar constant =...
