aham Lincoln Becomes Sixteenth President of USA, Republicans Jubilant, South Tense.

Enter Students Name here, November 7, 1860.
A
aham Lincoln becomes the sixteenth American President, beats the Democrat nominee Stephen A. Douglas. The Lincoln, nominee of the Republican Party has won the United States elections, thus becoming the sixteenth President of the nation. The United States of America has a Republican President for the first time. The cele
ations in the Free states continue to gear up across the strongholds of Republicans.
However, the Southern states don't seem to be happy with the election results as the initial reports from the southern states are wo
ying. Though the Republicans promised before the elections that they won't interfere with slavery in the south but the election results seem to generate a feeling of distrust and insecurity among the southern slave states. The extension of slavery into the te
itories was vehemently opposed by the Republicans and thus the election results are expected to have far reaching effects in the south. The protests were registered in several parts of southern states, immediately after the election results were declared. It is also equally true that, the differences of opinion among the democrats and the shifting of the radical democrat votes in the south to C. Breckinridge Kentucky while the Northern democrat votes to Douglas has also catalyzed the defeat of slave states. The American elections, though have ended with Lincoln's victory but the South-North clash is expected to escalate in the next few months, as believed by the political analysts.
