Introduction: The major purpose of this article is to discuss and reveal how
Bengaluru emerged as one of the most u
anized cities of the world and how it
turned into an overpopulated area. The pivotal endeavor in this article, along with the
aforesaid objective, is to convey to the readers the challenge that Bengaluru faces in
espect of restoring its livability while accommodating the over spilling population and
their rising demand for housing, water supply, sewerage and transport facilities. How
the city is trying to maintain itself towards east and north, projecting new subu
areas, implementing a concentric land use pattern, is also a subject matter of
discussion in this article.
Abstract and Overview: The article is about the evolution of Bengaluru from a less-
populated area to a megacity with increasing population. Going through the article
one can come to understand how the rapid in-migration of population from the other
parts of the Indian states and Karnataka itself has posed serious challenges on
