What you have to do
Please read the case study “The Aussie Toy Company Ltd” below, and then complete
the four tasks in report format for this assessment.
Create a Word (or any similar software) document, create a heading for each task and type
your answers to each task under the task heading. A reference list or bibliography should be
included at the end of the assignment.
You will be assessed on how well you interpret each task and how you are able to relate with
examples of a product or service applicable for each task. Before submitting your
assignment refer to the checklist at the end of this document. You can make any realistic
assumptions and use any relevant workplace info in your responses.
Suggested response length for each task is 150 to 200 words.
The Aussie Toy Company Ltd
The Aussie Toy Company Ltd has been established for nearly a decade and is one of the
leading toy products manufacturing and distribution in the industry. The company also
operates several retail stores for a couple of years in NSW selling toy and games, both
traditional and video/online games.

The number of market entrants has been increasing in the last few years in the domestic
market, which is nearing saturation unless new legislation in the future resulted in tighter
control on product quality for imported products in particular, and the introduction of

The Aussie Toy’s mission is “To grow through excellence in the supply of toy products in a
socially responsible manner, which maximises the wealth of shareholders and customer
satisfaction in the industry”. The focus of this statement is on long term growth rather than
short term profitability.
As a newly-appointed marketing manager for The Aussie Toy Company Ltd for the national
market, your first challenging job is to conduct a comprehensive and an objective review of
the marketing activities.
Your immediate supervisor has instructed you to provide appropriate responses and
marketing solutions to the following situations following your investigation into the internal
marketing operation and the external marketing environment.

Tasks
Task 1
Develop two SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time frame) marketing
objectives for The Aussie Toy Company Ltd. Justify your recommendations and relate your
description and discussion to the company.

Task 2
Identify and describe primary stakeholder and secondary stakeholder, and their inter-
elationships of The Aussie Toy Company Ltd.
How would you engage key stakeholders to achieve the SMART marketing objectives?

Task 3
Identify and describe one example of ethical OR legal issue in each of the following
marketing areas that The Aussie Toy Company Ltd should pay attention to. Relate your
discussion to the marketing and consumer laws:
• Marketing research
• Pricing
• Place (Distribution)
• Advertising
• Sales promotion.
Please ensure you outline the name of relevant legislation marketers will abide by.

Writing Style
For assessment writing, case studies and research reports always use the third person.
Third person makes your writing more objective and less personal. For academic and
professional writing, this sense of objectivity allows the writer to seem less biased and
therefore more credible. Third person helps the writing stay focussed on facts and evidence
instead of personal opinion. To effectively write in the third person use the titles of people,
avoid using pronouns such as “I” and “me”.

direct legible English constructed into sentences
• Used 12 point font size and business report style font (e.g. cali
