aham Lincoln was an American lawyer and political leader who served as the sixteenth president of The United States of America. On April 14, 1865 five days after the Confederate su
ender at Appomattox, which officially ended the Civil War, the president was fatally shot at the Ford’s theater in Washington DC while watching a play with his wife. The assassination was done by John Wilkes Booth, a well-known actor and a big sympathizer of the Confederate, and he also planned to murder Vice president Andrew Johnson and Secretary of State William Seward. However, they both survived (U.S. Census Bureau, 2014).
Significance of this Event
The significance of this event in American history is that this assassination has created a huge impact in the politics of United States. After the post-Civil War of America, a profound implication was found. As the death of A
