As a CRATOX staff member, you have been assigned to prepare a design for the air conditioning, lighting and fire protection (smoke detection and sprinklers) services systems for a 12-person meeting room in an office building.
You have been asked to prepare a report for CRATOX in which you will outline the design and the service requirements, as well as identify issues. You will also make technological, service and maintenance recommendations, with special consideration of unique ceiling specifications.
PARTB REPORT–STRUCTURE ANDSPECIFICATIONS
To prepare your report, refer to the structure and specifications in the instructions below. Be sure to read the information under the headingResearch and PreparationandFurther Adviceon page 4, to help you work through this assessment task. In your report, you must state any assumptions you have made.
Report Structure
Structure your report to address the following:
a) An accurately scaled draft Reflected Ceiling Plan (RCP) for this room AND one section view of the ceiling void.
Draft, using a computer aided software, a Reflected Ceiling Plan and Ceiling Void Section.Thiswill be key to helping to firm up your decisions and will need to be submitted as part of your draftplan.

Use the providedAssessment 1 Part B AutoCAD Drawing File
For the RCP, adapt the skeleton drawing in the Model Space within AutoCAD and use the scale provided on the RCP Title Block.
The cut line for the Ceiling Void Section is shown in the Model Space. There is no skeleton drawing provided for the Ceiling Void Section. That is, you will need to create the Ceiling Void Section within the Model space.
For the Ceiling Void Section, a scale is suggested in the Ceiling Void Section Title Block, but this scale may change depending on how the ceiling void section is presented. Use a scale that is a whole number multiple of 1. For example: 1:20, 1:30, 1:50....not a scale of, for example, 1: XXXXXXXXXXThe assessor needs to be able to quickly measure and verify the scale presented.
Ensure your Name and Initials are included on the Title Block of both drawings, Reflected Ceiling Plan and Ceiling Void Section.
Note:Hand drawn RCP or hand drawn ceiling void section will not be considered for assessment.
b) The issues to be considered in the laying out, installation and maintenance of the services.Consider both the services on the ceiling and above the ceiling and the maintenance required for each service.Legend provided in AutoCAD Drawing File.
c) Technologies incorporated in the design. This is including but not limited to Integrated AV system, data system, WIFI systems, hearing augmentation, room booking system, automated blind and lighting control and electronic security systems.
d)Recommended ceiling systemsthat would suit the given scenario, with reasons including how this decision impacts the services, and vice versa

Report Specifications
You are required to reference the applicable Australian Standards which dictate the quantity and spacing of the air conditioning, lighting, smoke detection and sprinkler services.
The following parameters are to be utilised: -
a) The meeting room size is 15m x 10 m
b) The ceiling void above the meeting room has 700mm (clear height)
c) This room contains two parallel reinforced concrete beams 300 mm deep x 500 mm wide, running
across the room above the ceiling.
d) The floor over is a reinforced concrete slab and accommodates toilets and showers for the tenancy above.
3. The following service must be included in this room:
a) Dimmable LED panel lighting system, flush-mounted, for general space illumination.
b) Ceiling mounted exit and emergency lighting for emergency evacuation.
c)Feature LED track spotlight system, for artwork on the two walls.
d) Ceiling recessed speaker system for AV sound reinforcement.
e) AV projection system, to one end wall including ceiling mounted microphones, hearing augmentation
and automated blind and lighting control
f) Ceiling mounted WIFI systems for wireless connectivity within the meeting room to enable wireless
internet and network access.
g) Supplementary ducted air conditioning system, flush mounted.
h) Sprinkler system, ceiling mounted.
i) Smoke detection and alarm system ceiling mounted.
j) Hydraulic wastewater and domestic hot and cold-water piping for above toilets
Research and Preparation
a) The notes you take and the AutoCAD sketches you make should support the information you need to include in the report.
b) Consider the issues in the laying out, installation and maintenance of the services for the meeting room you aredesigning utilising applicable Australian Standards and Building Codes.
c) Examine the services one at a time, and collectively.
d) Think about sequencing, support, clashes, appearance, access, and so on.
e) Conduct research online to find out about different ceiling systems. Recommended ceiling systems that would suitthe given scenario, with reasons including how this decision impacts the services, and vice versa.
f) Consider using an Excel spreadsheet to work out the sequencing and potential clashes - keeping in mind clashes relate to physical space and the timing of their installation, as well as access for maintenance.
