Trading Places 
This article by Peter F. Drucker describes the current world economy as a pluralist one, 
with a substantial number of economic blocs like NAFTA, ASEAN and even China and India. In 
fact what is emerging is not one, but four world economies viz. information, money, 
multinationals and mercantilism. The US will remain a huge player in this economy, but is not 
the single dominating economy. 
The article talks about how the internet has facilitated the formation of an „information 
society‟ by making information both universally available and multi directional. Its most 
important impact is on “mentality and awareness”.
