Amazon provides many services such as e-commerce, retail, etc. Here are a few domestic and global retail growth strategies employed by Amazon :
· Amazon has a commercial agreement and strategic alliances with many players which help it in delivering a wide variety of service to its consumers. With each day the business of Amazon continues to grow. Recently it has allied with PWC and KPMG.
· Amazon tries to lower its variable cost due to the advantage of a large scale of operations. This helps them in providing services at a low cost and thereafter strengthening its market position. It has done much horizontal and vertical integration to improve its operational efficiency.
· Amazon has done many acquisitions and investments over the years to diversify its business. It has made its presence felt in all sectors like pharmaceutical, e-commerce, software and hardware, robotics, etc. Few acquisitions include whole foods, Ring, Lovefilm International, etc
These strategies have resulted in a surge of growth for Amazon. These have helped Amazon in capturing more than half of the growth in the retail sector. Therefore it can be safely said that Amazon has been very successful in its strategies so far.
