Reading, Writing and Grammar strategies for ELL students
I noticed, through my observation of the classes that the needs of ELL students differed between beginner levels and proficient levels.. I majorly noted this difference in the way they pronounced words and accepted meanings of words. I was also mainly concerned with the lack of interest in reading and writing amongst ELL students since they preferred to understand things in their own language. With regards to grammar, ELL students tend to interpret grammar in comparison to their own languages and when they translate this into English or another language, grammar usually gets confusing and difficult for them.
Based on these points, I tried to observe the strategies teachers used in addressing the needs of ELL students at different levels. One strategy regarding each skill, reading, writing and grammar for beginner levels,
