A. IDEAS
1. In 1950, The US government wanted to stimulate the different aircraft machines to strengthen its Air defense. In Massachusetts Institute of technology, the fastest computer ‘Worldwind’ developed by J.Forestor was an option.
2. Existing airplanes were limited in flexibility. The government wanted flexible machines that could stimulate multiple airplane designs. J.Forestor designed digital computers which he could change the behavior of the system by mid programming.
3. The transition from vacuum tubes to transistors and therefore to Integrated chips consistently reduced the size of computers. By 1972, around 3500 ICs could be placed on a single silicon chip.
4. In January 1975, Altair 8800 was launched as the world’s first personal computer. It was possible because of the idea of Ex Air force officer, Ed Robert.
5. The reason behind the huge success of Microsoft PC ‘Mac’ and failure of IBM PC in 1983 was the Graphical User Interface of Microsoft Operating system and character-based screen of IBM PC.
