Hunger or “American Hunger” by Richard wright is the second part of an autobiography that focuses on the oppressions that he faced as a black kid. It explains his encounters with white, entitled kids who were indifferent to him and his realization of how this discrimination runs in the system not only in kids or people. The story, as mentioned by Karem, describes his struggles during his childhood and adulthood. Hunger becomes one of the dominant emotional states of his young life. It captures the pain of Southern racism. The whole text is based on his life that he led in Chicago.
