Part A: Quality Management and its Techniques for Betterment of Loaves at Taco Bell
1. The Impact of Loaves Quality on Customers’ Perception and on Taco Bell’s
The loaves manufactured by Taco bell are of very high quality and in retains the use of a balanced amount of ingredients, the ratio of which are kept a business secret. The use of the ingredients and the processing gives the loaves high nutrition values, distinct taste and quality texture. As stated by Hoddinott, Sandstrom and Upton (2018), the quality of food item sold to the customers must remain high quality, as customers develop their perspective towards a company based on their product quality. The quality of a product must ensure the offering of its core purpose, while remaining within the permissible limits set up by the regulatory authorities of a market. As mentioned by Gutie
ez-Gutie
ez, Ba
ales-Molina and Kaynak (2018), a product is considered high in quality, only if it justifies the price tag it ca
ies with the quality it provides, creating value for money proposition.
The loaves are the products that Taco Bell has been selling to its customers and is reliant on the quality of the product they are offering. The product quality has been retained it terms of freshness, compliance with government and nutrition norms of the country and taste, making the customers willing to pay higher prices for the loaves. The customers at Taco Bell also sees the health benefit of the loaves and develops a
and loyalty towards Taco Bell. As assessed by Chevalier, Dover and Mayzlin (2018), the offering of quality products that benefit customers always help in creating
and loyalty, which again is always positive for business. However, it is seen that as Taco Bell uses best in class ingredients for its loaves production, which makes the cost of manufacturing and the retail prices high, and increasing risk of customer rejection. Lastly, it is also seen that the processing time taken for the production is also becomes time consuming, limiting the production capacity and creating delay in serving it to the customers.
2. Critically Selecting the Process for Loaves Quality Approach at Taco Bell
The International Organisation for Standardization (ISO) mainly focuses on food items in terms of the customer safety, quality of the products, permissible use of ingredients and nutrition values in the context of global standards that is aimed at international food selling (International Organisation for Standardization, 2018). On the other hand, the Total Quality Management (TQM) is a norm that organisations maintain themselves for keeping its quality standards refined and updated, covering all major aspects of quality management. As mentioned by Pun and Yiu (2018), TQM is managed by managers and the norms of TQM remains distinct for each type of organisation, while the same type of organisations share similar areas of quality concerns and focuses.
Taco Bell, although having its origin in USA, conducts its business in multiple countries. The company has maintained its standards in USA by abiding the norms of the government standards for food and their preparations. It is also assumed that Taco Bell has also developed its TQM technique based on government standards in USA. However, TQM based on US standards for food cannot be the same with food standards in countries such as India, United Kingdom and Korea. However, as Popping et al. (2018) put it in front, all international companies as the standards for food remains maintain ISO standards the same for all countries and one country perfecting the ISO standards in practice would be able to offer same standard of service everywhere. Taco Bells can use the ISO standards for the production for its loaves and can maintain the standards in every market, without considering changes in their production process for meeting specific country standards.
3. Role of the Seven Tools of Quality Management for Improving the Opted Operations
With the use of the seven basic tools of quality management, any business, which has an existing system of work, can improve and Taco Bell is not an exception to this rule. As mentioned by Bajaj, Garg and Sethi (2018), seven basic tools of quality management include Fishbone Chart, Checklist, Control Chart, Scattered Diagram, Histogram, Stratification and lastly, Perato Chart. The use of fishbone chart will help the supply chain and inventory management of Taco Bell to list out a range of probable causes...
